Medical Care is provided by On-Site Nursing Staff
Who provide ongoing physical assessments, and follow up with all medical care that our participants may require. Our nursing team is also experienced in gastric feeding and provides such services within the medical day program setting.
Our Social Worker
Provides one on one interaction with families and assists with the admitting process. Upon admission, each individual acquires his/her own interdisciplinary team, consisting of a nurse, social worker and activities coordinator. This team collaborates to provide the most thorough assessment of all participants and provides continual assistance throughout the day program tenure.
Scheduled Activities
Our participants enjoy a wide variety of scheduled
activities daily as well as community outings and special
event programming each month. Daily scheduled
activities include physical fitness, range of motion,
sensory stimulation, fine and gross motor activities,
Men and Women ‘s Groups, arts and crafts, music
programs, cooking groups, grooming, games, computer,
and story hour/reading groups. Participants and staff
alike are recognized for their birthdays at our Monthly
Birthday Celebrations. All of these activities are
supervised by our Activities Coordinator.
Physical Fitness and Health Related Therapies
Our participants enjoy a vast range of physical fitness
activities, such as Mall Walks, Community Walks,
modified sports and exercise. Under nursing supervision,
we provide a weekly assisted walking program for
participants who require additional support while ambulating as well. Weekly a Licensed Physical Therapist comes to the center to provide services to our participants.
Wheelchair Repair Services
In conjunction with Medi-Rents, monthly wheelchair clinics are provided within our facility.
The Adult Medical Day Program is managed by the Division Of Long Term Care Services , Office of Health Services, Medical Care Services. This is under the auspices of The Maryland Department Of Health and Mental Hygiene. Funding for the program is through Maryland Medicaid, Private Insurance and Private Pay.
Transportation
Is provided to and from the program for participants located in our *general service area. We also provide transportation to most medical appointments that occur during regular program hours.
